Jess & Dom’s Ravenwood Hall Wedding | Day of Coordination
Jess & Dom reached out to me to coordinate their wedding day at Ravenwood Hall, giving them and their parents peace of mind that everything was taken care of, so they could simply be present and enjoy every moment of their day. Before the wedding, we had two planning meetings together. The first was to work through the initial timings and details, and the second was to finalise everything ahead of the big day. This meant that by the time the wedding arrived, we had a clear plan in place and Jess & Dom could relax knowing I was there to bring it all together.
Wedding morning set-up
My day started with setting up all of Jess & Dom’s wedding décor. From their table styling and classic taper candles to pops of pink, blue and coral, their colour palette was so much fun. And, of course, there were disco balls, which I absolutely loved! Jess had been incredibly organised and had packed all of their décor into clearly labelled boxes, making it so easy to find everything and bring their vision to life. I honestly wish every couple could be this organised!
Once everything was set up and looking just as they had imagined, my role moved into coordinating the suppliers and keeping the day running smoothly. I made sure everyone knew where they needed to be and when, checked that suppliers had everything they needed, and generally kept an eye on all the little details happening behind the scenes.
Jess & Dom had their ceremony in the gorgeous Pavilion, and once the ceremony was over, I helped coordinate the team to flip the space ready for their wedding breakfast.
While guests were getting ready for confetti photos, I was making those final little tweaks to the tables and checking that everything was ready for the next part of the day. Then it was time for speeches, dinner and, most importantly, for Jess & Dom to enjoy themselves!
One of my favourite things about being a wedding coordinator is being able to take care of the practical things in the background while my couples get to fully immerse themselves in their day. Jess & Dom were so wonderfully relaxed throughout. It was lovely to see them completely focused on having fun, rather than worrying about what needed to happen next.
Their fur babies even got to join in with the drinks reception, and honestly, how adorable are the photos?!
I genuinely wish I could have dogs at every wedding. They added such a lovely personal touch to the day, and I was very happy to be involved in making sure they could enjoy the celebrations too.
After dinner, guests were treated to a photo booth from @thehoofbooth. It was such a fun alternative to a traditional photo booth and really added to the guest experience. It was brilliant seeing everyone getting involved and creating their own memories from the evening.
I also set up Jess & Dom’s wedding cake and added their chosen décor details, ready for the cake cutting. From there, it was on to their first dance before the party really got started!
I always love being part of my couples’ wedding days, but Jess & Dom’s was particularly lovely because they really embraced the whole experience. They trusted me to take care of the timings, suppliers, set-up and all those behind-the-scenes details, which meant they could simply enjoy being married and celebrate with the people they love.
For me, that is exactly what wedding coordination is about. It’s not just about making sure things happen at the right time. It’s about giving couples and their families the freedom to be fully present, knowing someone else has an eye on everything happening around them.
